Polyethylene
Polyethylene is the preferred material for fake grass, thanks to its versatility and ability to strike an ideal balance between durability, aesthetics, and softness. It not only looks amazing with bright green colors and plenty of textures but also feels softer and more natural than others.
Also, this type of artificial turf will hold up to a lot of use and abuse without beginning to look ragged or worn out. In addition, taking care of polyethylene artificial grass is fairly easy as it only needs to be raked or brushed to ensure that the grass keeps its best shape.
Polypropylene
This is not only the cheapest choice but also the least durable types of artificial grass. It will not stand up well to users walking or playing on it. If you prefer durable synthetic grass product, Polypropylene will not be a good choice. Often employed as a thatch layer, polypropylene enhances the realistic appearance of the turf and provides a comfortable foot feel.
What’s more, it cannot bear the high temperatures that Polyethylene does. Thus, if you want to install artificial turf in a very hot area, this may lead to an unnatural-looking lawn.

In leisure settings, shorter piles are preferred for high-traffic areas, though they may appear less natural than longer alternatives. Shorter fibers excel in specific purposes, such as creating pet-friendly surfaces that protect paws and withstand pet activities.
Long
Longer fibers, as opposed to shorter yarns, are ideal for contact sports like soccer, football, and rugby. For residential or commercial use, if you prioritize appearance and feel, opting for grass with a longer pile is advisable, as it delivers a lush, luxurious aesthetic.

Color
Green
Green is the most common color for various types of artificial grass. However, contrary to common belief, fake turf isn’t uniformly green. Blends of green vary on a spectrum from brighter lime green to darker olive green, encompassing a wide range of shades. The charm of modern artificial landscape turf lies not just in how closely it resembles natural grass but also in its ability to mimic different grass species.
In sports such as soccer, football, and rugby, it is possible to combine different shades of green in one tuft, to create a more natural grass appearance, with emerald, olive, lime and forest being the most common shades.
